Summary:
Soils around the world have increased the issues of carbon dioxide over the past ten years. Caused of increasing temperatures, carbon dioxide will be released from soil by triggering microbes to speed up their consumption of plants waste and other organic matter. According to the two terrestrial carbon scientist, Ben Bond-Lamberty and Allison Thomson, have been studying soil for almost 50 years. The researchers reported the differences between the studies, such as annual temperatures and techniques use to model carbon dioxide levels.
Both of the researchers found that the soil respiration had increased by about 0.1% per year. The global reached rougly about 10 times more carbon than humans are now putting into the atmosphere. Base on Eric Davidson, a biogeochemist, said that "increasing temperatures have increased rates of decomposition of soil organic matter". The extra soil comes in two types: microbes and plants, and if plant roots are emmiting more carbon dioxide the plants will give out more oxygen.

Reflection:
I chose this topic because I wanted to know more about how the carbon dioxide are released by soil. I just realized that we are putting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than we use to. We are making issues for the greenhouse. We must learn to use carbon-free or reduced-carbon sources of energy. It generates energy without producing and emitting carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
